Japan remembers Hiroshima victims HIROSHIMA: Japan is remembering the 140,000 people who died after the first-ever use of an atomic bomb, dropped by the US on the city of Hiroshima in August 1945, 66 years back.

It is the first time representatives from America, as well as Britain and France, attended a memorial for the attack. A total of 75 countries were present.

Prayers were held for the dead, who on this day---August 6, 66 years back had perished when the U.S. B-29 fighter bombers had dropped atom bomb called the ‘Little Boy’ at 8.15 A. M. in the morning.

The main prayer was held in Hiroshima right at the same time the atomic hell was let loose on any human habitats. Japanese prime minister besides other dignitaries also attended this prayer ceremony.
