Blast in army ammunition depot in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A blast has been reported Monday at highway near Kok Pul in Islamabad, Geo News reported. According to initial reports, the blast has occurred in an army ammunition depot due to short circuit, injuring two persons. Fire has broke out as a result of blast and ammunition present in the depot while fire fighters are trying to control blaze. The area is about 20 km from Rawalpindi and is considered a sensitive area where security is usually on high alert. A police-training centre is also located nearby. Rescue teams have reached the spot while police and security forces have cordoned off the area.
