Heavy rain lashes twin cities, Swat

 Heavy rain lashes twin cities, Swat ISLAMABAD: The upper parts of the country including areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa received heavy rains that turned weather pleasant but immersed low lying areas, Geo News reported Saturday.

Cloudy weather along with rain was recorded in the adjoining areas of Gilgit, Hunza and Attabad turning weather pleasant.

Other areas receiving rain and thunderstorm include Multan, Swat , Mingora and Dera Ismail Khan and the adjoining areas where rain lowered mercury but sub merged the low areas.

Twin cities are also receiving heavy rains since early Saturday morning where 74 ml of rain has been recorded in Islamabad while 63 in Rawalpindi, met department said.

Nala Lai that passes through Rawalpindi has low water level therefore no flooding is expected, met department added.

According to flood control center in Rawalpindi, water level raised at Katarian and Gawal Mandi point in Nala Lai at 8 am today (Saturday), however no flooding is expected.
