AJK LA-17 Poonch-1 re-polling underway

 AJK LA-17 Poonch-1 re-polling underway MUZAFFARABAD: Re-polling in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly constituency LA-17 Poonch-1 has started this morning, Geo News reported.

The office of the returning officer of this constituency on June 26 general lections was torched.

AJK Election Commission said that 157 polling stations have been set up for holding the re-polling in LA-17 Poonch-1, where 70,288 registered voters are expected to exercise their rights of franchise.

Heavy contingents of police have been posted at the polling stations fro holding peaceful re-polling in the constituency.

Muslim Conference’s Abdul Qayyum Niazi, Sardar Amjad Yusuf of Pakistan People’s Party and Yasin Gulshan of Muslim League-N are vying for this seat, while independent candidate Sardar Asghar Afandi has withdrawn in favor of PPP candidate Sardar Amjad Yusuf.
