Re-polling in Samahni AJK LA-6 underway

MUZAFFARABAD: Re-polling is underway at the 50 polling stations in Samahni, Mirpur constituency LA-6, as the earlier held polling on these stations were declared controversial due to violence incidents during the polling. It may be recalled that the June 26 polling in Samahni AJK LA-6 was marred by some violence incidents of which the Election Commission Azad Kashmir taking serious notice had stopped the polling and later announced re-polling on these 50 stations on July 11, which have been declared highly sensitive. Stringent security arrangements have been made by posting heavy contingents of police and FC. Some 29,000 voters of these 50 polling stations are expected to exercise their rights of franchise today. PPP supported candidate Chaudhry Ali Shan Soni and Muslim League-N’s Raja Muhammad Razzaque are expected giving tough fight to each other.
