Petition filed in US court for Bin Laden photos
Updated at: 1229 PST, Saturday, May 14, 2011 WASHINGTON: A US organization has sued the Pentagon to obtain photographs of Osama bin Laden’s dead body, the watchdog group announced Friday. The organization Judicial Watch, announced that it had filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the Department of Defense seeking all photographs and video recordings of Osama bin Laden taken during and after the U.S. military operation in Pakistan that resulted in bin Laden’s death. “I don’t think it’s as big a deal to release the documents as the administration suggests. It’s quite simple: They should be released,” said Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, in announcing the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court.
