Trust deficit between taxpayers, IT Deptt. to go

Updated at: 0924 PST,  Tuesday, May 24, 2011  ISLAMABAD: The trust deficit between the taxpayers and the Income Tax Department would be removed for widening the tax net. Talking to the investors at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce, large taxpayer units’ chief commissioner, Syed Ejaz Hussain Shah said that efforts were afoot to restore the trust of the taxpayers by addressing the complaints relating to the department’s harassment of the taxpayers. Regional tax office Chief Commissioner, Farida Amjad on this occasion stressed on the need of apprising the small taxpayer about the rules and procedures of sales tax registration.
