US demands access to Bin Laden's wives

 Updated Monday, May 09, 2011
US demands access to Bin Laden WASHINGTON: Pakistan should let US authorities question Osama bin Laden's three captured wives, National Security Adviser Tom Donilon said Sunday.

We have asked for access to three wives of Bin Laden, the National Security Advisor, Tom Donilon said in an interview.

Donilon said so far US has no evidence which suggests that the Pakistani Government knew about the presence of bin Laden at a Abbottabad compound.

He said the Pakistanis need to provide us with intelligence … from the compound that they gathered, including access to Osama bin Laden's three wives whom they have in custody.

He said Pakistan was not informed of the raid in advance for reasons of "operational security," not distrust.

Donilon also said information seized from bin Laden's compound shows he was al-Qaida's commander, not just a symbol.
