Ireland one-day matches captaincy still doubtful LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Ijaz Butt’s statement has made Shahid Afridi’s position as regards to leading the team in the two one-day mach series against Ireland doubtful.

Following the two test match series against West Indies, Pakistan team on home-coming will play two one-day matches in Ireland. Who will be the captain in this series, the mystery as yet remains unsolved. Whether Shahid Afridi would be leading the team, no categorical decision has come forth thus far. The Board had issued show cause notice to Shahid Afridi, which he had replied.

In an informal talk with the media, PCB Chairman said that Shahid Afridi has certainly informed him of his availability in Ireland on phone and has also talked of leaving for U.S. for enquiring the health of his father, but the PCB Chairman didn’t assure Afridi of retaining him as captain instead Ijaz Butt clarified that neither he has given any statement relating to the removal of Shahid Afridi from captaincy.
