Karachi rain: Nine die of electrocution | ||
KARACHI: At least nine people lost their lives when they were electrocuted during rain in the city, Geo News reported. Five members of the same family including a mother and daughter were among those killed. Heavy rain lashed Karachi this afternoon and in a brief period of time water accumulated in several areas of the city. As a result, traffic jams are being reported across the city and several vehicles have broken down. The chairman of the Karachi Traders Itehad adds that several markets in the city have been flooded. According to the MET office, 52 MM or rain has fallen in Landhi, 40 MM in Saddar, 17.4 MM in the airport area and 16 MM in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. | ||
