Memogate unfortunate, shameful event: Musharraf

LAHORE: Former president General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf has announced that he would return to Pakistan in January, Geo News reported on Sunday.

Addressing a public meeting through telephone in Lahore, the former president said earlier he had planned to return on March 23 but ' now, in view of the prevailing circumstance, I will return home in January'.

About Tehreek-e-Pakistan Chief, Imran Khan, he said he was glad that the TI Chief declared his assets. "On returning to Pakistan not only will I share details of my assets but also devote a portion of it for the poor," he resolved.

Pervez Musharraf said even a single penny of the country's wealth was 'Haram' for him or his family.

He said all that he had faced were mere allegations, none of which had been proved.

He described memogate issue as a shameful and unfortunate event. Pakistan army and ISI were being maligned through a conspiracy, he added.
