The day reminds about the Quaid’s historic struggle for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the Sub-continent where every citizen could live according to his faith and dignity.The celebrations will take place both at public and private levels by holding befitting functions to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation for his heroic struggle for an independent homeland.
The main event will take place at the Quaid’s Mausoleum in Karachi with the change of guard.
The Ministry of National Heritage and Integration has specially designed colourful float to pay homage to the Father of the Nation on the day here.
The float, with the theme Unity, Faith and Discipline, will represent culture of all the provinces and display photographic representation of Quaid-e-Azam and his unique belongings.
Folk dance groups like Dharees dance, Sammi dance and Khattak dance will perform all the way on the float and a special function comprising performances of folk artists will be arranged on the day.
A documentary film on Quaid-e-Azam will be shown on a large screen which will be attended by a large number of diplomats, high ranking government officials, cultural personalities as well as general public.
Meanwhile, a special sitting in connection with the Quaid-e-Azam day was held at Alhamra Hall, Lahore on Saturday, which was presided by Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister, Zulfiqar Ali Khosa.
Liaqat Baloch, Syed Fakhar Imam, Senator Muhammed Ali Durrani, Khawaja Saad Rafiq MNA, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, MNA and Waleed Iqbal Advocate were also present on the occasion.
A number of social, cultural and educational programmes will also be arranged in Peshawar, Quetta and cities to pay tribute to the Quaid-i-Azam on Sunday.
Both private and state-run channels would air special programmes while national dailies including E-newspapers usually publish special supplements to apprise the people about the Father of the Nation.
The Quaid-e-Azam was an ‘ambassador of Hindu-Muslim unity, a great constitutionalist, a distinguished parliamentarian, a top-notch politician, an indefatigable freedom-fighter, a dynamic Muslim leader, a political strategist and, above all one of the great nation-builders of modern times.
The Quaid-e-Azam visioned Pakistan as a democratic and impregnable welfare state where people could live with peace, love, fraternity and harmony.
The Quaid also desired that every citizen should have equal opportunities of education, health, progress and justice.
The befitting way to pay tribute to Quaid-e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is to forge unity, work hard for the progress and prosperity of the country, following the golden principles of Quaid-e-Azam to overcome the challenges confronting by the country.
Born on December 25, 1876 at Wazir Mansion Karachi, Jinnah had a vision for the problems which Pakistan would face in the years to come. Though, he lived slightly over a year after the creation of Pakistan, the Quaid wanted to see his country become a role model for other nations - free from corruption, nepotism and hypocrisy. (APP)
