Month long CNG closure in Sindh on the cards

KARACHI: The government is contemplating a month long closure of CNG pumps in Sindh including Karachi due to prevailing gas crisis, said Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr. Asim Hussain.

Addressing a convention at the University of Karachi, Dr Asim said gas shortage has intensified in the country, as a result closure of CNG stations, industries and fertilizer plants is carried on time to time.

The federal minister further said owing to prevailing gas crisis, the government is mulling over closure of CNG stations in Sindh including Karachi for one month.

CNG pumps are being closed for three days in a week in Punjab, he said added that first time in this winter season this step is taken for Sindh and Balochistan and two-day closure is continued there.
