Gunmen shoot four to death in Karachi |
KARACHI: Unknown biker-gunmen late Tuesday night opened fire at a garments shop killing four people and injuring one near Nagan Chowrangi area of the city, Geo News reported. The attackers fled the scene after the bloodshed leaving the area in the grip of fear. Details are pouring in intermittently, but initial reports say the murdered owned and ran a garments shop under an apartment building and were businesslike people with no involvement of any sort in activities that could have led to this tragedy. After the firing incident the bullet-riddled victims were rushed to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital, but four out of five could not make it and died on the way. Bedlam followed the firing as the gunshots stampeded the shoppers into rushing to save their lives injuring many. Aggrieved but angry local residents thronged the hospital chanting slogans and lamenting this act of butchery. Large number of bereaved family members raised hue and cry at the hospital demanding justice. Police/Rangers also made a beeline to the murder scene but to no avail. Authorities are yet to say something about these killings whether it were targeted, feud-associated, or part of a robbery. Some reports are linking this tragedy to professional rivalry. |
