President for implementation of SC verdict on Karachi |
![]() Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar said a meeting was held in the Presidency to brief the President on the steps being taken to implement the Supreme Court’s judgment in a suo moto case about the law and order situation in Karachi. He said that the meeting was specially convened by the President to apprise himself of the steps that had so far been taken for the implementation of verdict. The Sindh Chief Minister briefed the meeting on the steps taken by the provincial government for the implementation of verdict and the steps that would be further taken. The meeting was attended among others by Governor of Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq, former Law Minister Dr Babar Awan, Law Minister of Sindh Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wassan and Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas, Farahnaz Ispahani and Ms. Mehreen Anwer Raja. Farhatullah Babar said that the Supreme Court announced the 156-page verdict in the case on Thursday. |
