9 MQM men killed in 48 hrs: Raza Haroon

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) member Raza Haroon has said that all attempts to suppress his party by ‘killing MQM workers and sympathizers’ was in, no way, in the interest of Sindh and existing democratic set up, Geo News reported Thursday.

He said this while addressing a press conference here at Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall along with members of MQM Coordination Committee.

Raza Haroon said 9 MQM workers and sympathizers had been made victims of targeted killing during the past 48 hours in the city. According to him, a total of 83 MQM activists and supporters had been murdered since January.

“Despite this situation, the MQM workers have not lost patience,” he maintained, regretting that no serious action was taken by the federal or provincial government to rein in the killers.

He said it was due to MQM’s growing popularity, that MQM is once again being confined to Karachi through an organized and malicious conspiracy.
