NRO Implementation: SC orders PM Gilani to write letter

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to write the letter to Swiss authorities to reopen cases against President Asif Ali Zardari without seeking advice, Geo News reported.

The SC in its verdict ordered the prime minister to inform the court on March 21 after writing letter.

The apex court directed the Attorney General to inform Prime Minister Gilani about their order.

A seven member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Nasir- ul-Mulk heard the contempt case against Prime Minister Gilani.

The government and its lawyers had argued earlier that the Prime Minister had not received the summary to write the letter.
